July 2007 - In light of specific events that occurred in Asia in December 2004, I find the name of this restaurant a little bit unfortunate although I am sure the restaurant was here well before this event. The sushi however, is some of the best I have ever had. Tsunami Sushi is located on the second floor of a building right on busy, vibrant Robson Street. If it is nice outside, you can sit on the patio and watch people go by.
You can pick your sushi by the plate off of the boats that go by in the middle of the room or you can sit at one of the tables where you can order off the menu. We opted for ordering off the menu as I like to know what it is I am eating. We started with salad and miso soup and then ordered a bunch of different sushi. The pieces are big and the sushi tastes so fresh. The sushi is very inexpensive and our whole meal came to under $30 (with no alcohol). It was very good sushi and I was pleasanlty full at the end of the meal. It was busy in there but we did not have to wait for a table or wait long for the sushi we ordered. I am told it can get lined up in there and then the experience takes a lot longer. I would definatley recommend eating at Tsunami Sushi when in downtown Vancouver.
