October 2007 - This was a lucky, chance discovery. As a couple of tourists driving through Kitsilano, a seemingly trendy area, the Mexican-style charm of Las Margarita's exterior caught our attention. We filed it away as our next dinner destination. That evening we were back and discovered a warm, cheerful and tasteful interior with rustic archways, Mexican posters and memorabilia garnishing the walls. Our server was very friendly, helpful and attentive at the perfect moments. We started with my partner's favourite Mexican dark beer, Negro Modelo, and a glass of red wine with a delicious and generously topped flour tortilla pizza. For a starter it was the perfect size for two. We ordered the LA Burrito and the Grilled Salmon Burrito. Both were fat and flavoursome and came with decent sides of salad, rice and black beans. Absolutely can't complain about the food. Can't complain about the service. Can't complain about the atmosphere either, although the large group that arrived and occupied the big table not far from us forgot they weren't the only ones there. Yummy! I wish this place was in Calgary.
