"Pretty Good, but the Quest Continues"
7
by Dana (from Calgary)
October 2007 - My boyfriend is on a continuous look-out for 'real' Italian pizza, the thin-based kind with minimum weight and maximum flavour. So we thought we'd give Lombardo's a go. The menu offered many choices of pre-designed toppings, and they were nice enough to do us a half and half large pizza as we didn't think we could do two medium ones. The menu focuses on pizza, but they also offer a range of pasta dishes and a couple of calzones, along with the standard appetizers, soups and salads. I thought the pizza was really yummy (although, made in a rush, the spread of the Italian sausage was very uneven, I had to re-allocate a few pieces to lacking slices...) and my boyfriend enjoyed it too, however his quest to find the perfect pizza continues. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and modern, and the waitress was lovely, albeit a little strange... she gave us pet names and her extremely jolly yet awkward manner left us feeling a wee bit baffled.
