"Very Popular Place"

May 2008 - We went to Whistler on a long weekend holiday and it was very busy. We went for a hike and decided to head into the Village around 1:00 to get some lunch. Every place we checked out had a wait of 40 minutes or more. We put our name on a few lists and went to the first one we got a table at. There were four of us - me, my husband, and our two daughters. It was a very hot day - almost 30 degrees Celsius. By 1:30 we were seated at the side of the outdoor patio at a table without an umbrella. At first that was okay, but as we sat there longer it was getting very hot. Our waitress came and took our drink and food order within 10 minutes of us being seated, but we didn't see her again for half an hour. We finally had to go looking for her to get our drinks. She brought them out and said she would be right back with the food, but she wasn't and we sat for another 45 minutes before our food came out. She was very apologetic but by this time we were not happy and her apologies felt insincere. Our lunch, having arrived finally, was delicious. We shared sweet potato fries, cooked to a crisp and served with a chili mayo dip. My daughter ordered spring rolls, I had a chicken club sandwich, my husband had mac and cheese and my other daughter had a chorizo pasta. The food was excellent - except for the fact that they left the wrapper on my cheese slice when the prepared my sandwich. Some days are like this. We really did enjoy the food when it finally arrived and the restaurant is located in a busy part of the Village so there is lots to look at while you wait. We would definitely give this another try, but would certainly plan for the slow service.
