| "Amazing!" |
by Bailey (from Savona) July 2006 - I live in Savona and regularly hike up Savona Mtn. It's definitely a great place if your up for a nice day hike. I recommend to go up during June or early July..because it gets very hot at the top due to the rocks and limited shade during August. You'll find a few big caves at the top with some sort of ancient drawings inside them. If you're a geologist or a enviroment enthusiast I highly recommend hiking up the Savona Mtn. trail. Also, if you're into hiking I encourage hiking down to the Balancing Rock. Basically it's a massive rock perched on top of a skinny pillar. It's an amazing site for everybody. It's not as challenging of a hike as the Savona Mtn. and people of almost every age can go see it. It's downhill the whole way to the rock, and uphill most of the way back. It's not too steep and is very rewarding. I've been done there numerous times. Trust me,it's a couple of the amazing hikes in the Savona area. Also, if you are wanting to go on more hikes while in the Savona area email me at dancer_bailey@hotmail.com
