November 2007 - On a recent trip back from Vancouver Island to Calgary, and being on the road too long, we opted to go cheap and stay at the Thriftlodge. Well, cheap is what we got. Our check in girl was friendly enough and courteous. We requested a no smoking room and we got one which was right next door to other non smoking rooms but there were definitely smokers in there and it came right through the cracks of the adjoining room door. There were two beds in our room and the one had rumpled bedding which was disturbing to me. The other bed had paper thin bedding and when I found out that the Travelodge is the parent owner of this place I was even more disappointed. We have always been happy and comfortable with our stays at Travelodges. The walls are also very thin and we could hear all that was being said next door. There was a microwave in the room but there was also eight plugs going into one wall outlet.
They do have a mini continental breakfast and coffee in the small office.
Would we stay here again even being totally exhausted? Sorry, but no way..
