by Carlos (from Calgary) July 2007 - The campground in Fintry Provincial Park was the ideal location after an 8 hour drive from Alberta to BC. It had all the basic human needs: showers, toilets, and nearby amenities. The washrooms in particular were highly exceptional. They weren’t a hole in the ground, had running and flush water and had a hygienic appeal. They were actually pretty impressive for being toilets in a provincial park. The mosquitoes were at a minimum. The Okanagan Lake not only added humidity but also offered a refreshing dip in the +35 weather. Another quality about Fintry is the possibility of reservations for a large group. An interesting site was the hidden waterfall that was tucked behind the mountains. The 20 minute walk was definitely worth the hike. Just make sure to bring lots of water. I highly recommend Fintry Provincial Park for any ball of stress that wants to unwind, or for anyone who just wants to have a good time.
