"Expensive luxury"

by Sally (from Fernie, BC)
June 2008 - When you arrive at a place on a busy weekend at the last minute I suppose you can’t expect a bargain, but perhaps you can have expensive luxury just about any time. The Hotel Eldorado with its water front location on Lake Okanagan in Kelowna would take some beating. This is a beautiful traditional hotel, complete with antique looking furniture both in and outside the rooms. The deluxe private King bedroom was small but elegant. The two very comfortable armchairs and a large flat screen TV (neatly hidden in an antique armoire) were great. The little balcony looked onto the lake and marina and was above the restaurant. Complimentary coffee was available on the second floor until 9am (we were on the third, so that was slightly inconvenient). The check-in staff were very friendly and helpful with all our questions. The pool that was indoors, but opened up onto to a private lawned area with loungers was a pleasant relief in the heat.

"Upscale hotel"

by Carol (from England)
June 2008 - If luxury is what you want, the Eldorado Hotel in Kelowna fits the bill. The hotel has very attractive rooms, a fine on-site restaurant and a lovely indoor pool with numerous large glass doors which open and bring the lakefront indoors. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the waterfront location as well as a super Sunday brunch with fresh crab, lobster and shrimp among other traditional brunch items. Luxury comes at a price and the hotel, while very nice, is also quite expensive. We have experienced better value for money (the king-sized room was not overly large, nor was the bathroom) but would still stay here again.
