May 2008 - The Grand Okanagan Lake Resort was a real treat, right from the comfortable rooms, the great ambiance, and the fact that, as an avid birdwatcher, a short stroll would get me to a large park complete with a marsh. As a photographer, I appreciated the many views afforded from our corner room overlooking the Okanagan lake and harbour from the large window that actually opened, and a small balcony. The room came with all the amenities expected, including complimentary coffee and coffee maker, air conditioning and a large work space with internet access. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean, the staff was friendly, and there was a nice little coffee place on the main floor. The only issue I had with the Resort was it resembled a maze – I seemed to have a hard time figuring out where I was. Apparently I wasn’t the only one; I bumped into a group of people who were also debating which door would lead to the lake, finally conceding they would have to return to the front desk to get directions! I must say, since I was treated to this experience as a guest, it was a great deal – if money is not a consideration this is a great bet for your buck!

May 2007 - I recently had to spend some considerable time in Kelowna for work and my boss decided to treat me to a luxurious stay at the Grand Okanagan Resort. It was definitely one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, with its prime location in downtown Kelowna's cultural district, incredible views from the balcony of my corner suite and an abundance of amenities on the property. My room was spacious and always well-cleaned. We did notice a bowl of ketchup, left over from someone's discarded room service, managed to evade cleanup for three days as it sat in the hallway, and our wireless Internet, which was essential for our trip, was temperamental at best. However, the front desk staff were very accommodating and the concierge and valet staff were able to answer all of our questions, of which we had many. The in-house gym was incredible and rivals many smaller private gyms and the restaurants that are contained on the premises were all spectacular.
