May 2008 - The Grateful Fed Café (also known as the Fed), is the local place for live music in Kelowna. The walls are literally plastered with a hundred or so record albums of famous and not-so-famous artists from the 60s and 70s. The hole-in-the-wall feeling made the café comfortable and relaxing, and the walls provided much entertainment and discussion; it felt great to be in a place that celebrates music from the past and supports up and coming talent as well. Our waitress was efficient and pleasant, her dreadlocks adding to the already interesting ambience of the place. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed with my breakfast, as the omelette I ordered was tasteless and greasy. I suppose this is the kind of place it would be better to hit at night to listen to live music and have a few drinks with friends. I did notice that their lunch and dinner menu had interesting items like steaks, burgers and pasta dishes, so maybe it would be worth trying out for a meal other than breakfast.
