February 2007 - I live and until recently worked within close proximity to the Pheasant & Quail Pub, my co-workers and I would frequent this place regularly after work for a quick pint. While the food is consistently above average for quality it lacks a little with the prices compared other places in the area. However my beef is with the overpriced and consistently “SHORT POURED” sleeves of beer. It’s bad enough the price they are charging for the premium draft like Guinness, Kilkenny or Stella, but to get them in a small glass and have them poured ½ to ¾ sometime un to an inch from the top of the glass nearly every time. For the past year or so after every time I've gone in I've left saying the same thing, I'm not going back there again. Then a month goes by and I try again with the same result. I was last in there a couple of days ago and guess what "the same thing", well this is it (for real this time), I'm done with the P&Q.
If you are looking for a place to stop in for a pint (sleeve) or two on your way home, this is not the place to do it. Go to Tonic's if you want well priced and well poured Guinness, or try McCullough Station for simlar Ambience, Food with better prices and definatly better pours.
