May 2007 - Located on the compound of The Grand Hotel and Resort, DJ's offers authentic Mexican food right and a great atmosphere. Everything within the restaurant is directly from Mexico, which really adds to the experience. They also have an extensive tequila list, including my personal favourite, Petron. On my last trip to Kelowna I went there a couple times and throuroughly enjoyed the service and my meal both times. Their salsa and gaucamole is made fresh daily on site and is an excellent start to any meal. The assorted meat fajitas (beef, chicken and shrimp) were gynormous and loaded with a myriad of vegetables and the fajita wraps themselves were served in the best sombrero-shaped straw dish I have ever seen. The fajitas were also served with refried beans and Spanish rice, making for lots and lots of delicious food. We also had a beef dish (I can't recall the name, my Spanish is a little dicey) that featured very small pieces of spiced beef that you dipped into a white sauce. Whatever it was called, it was fantastic. The service was excellent, very friendly, speedy and conversational and we were able to enjoy our meal on the patio, which offered a great view of the sunset on a warm spring evening. If you are fan of authentic Mexican food, this is your best bet while in Kelowna.
