by Sally (from f) June 2008 - Buffet brunches are not really my style but as we had settled on eating after spending from 8am to 11am on a speedboat on Lake Okanagan this seemed like a good idea. At the Hotel Eldorado we elected to sit on the Broadwalk area outside, which meant a two-minute wait for a table, but it was worth the wait, as we were a stones throw from the water front and the marina so we could watch all the boat related activity. The brunch was a huge buffet, which included crabs legs, king prawn, pancakes, omelets, fruit, cheese and cold meats, bacon, sausage, hash browns, crepes, ten different desserts and those were the things I ate! Not really - but the choice did seem endless and you could go up as many times as you wanted. Now it was not cheap, the waitress to be honest was not the most attentive or helpful, but hey we had all that food at our fingertips! If you like king crab, which is not a cheap thing to order at the best of times, then this was probably great value for money.

by Tanya (from Calgary) July 2007 - The Eldorado is one of my all time favorite places to eat. The boardwalk patio right on Okanagan Lake is the perfect place to spend some time on a sunny afternoon. The boardwalk is pretty casual with everything from pub food to seafood dishes or you can opt for dinner in the dining room which is a finer dining experience. To sit in the lounge is a relaxed and cooler alternative if it is too hot outside. The calamari is not the usual deep fried dish you find at most restaurants. These full mini squid have no batter on them and are done in a tomato and tequila sauce. They are delicious but are not for the eater who prefers to have the true look of their seafood hidden. The salmon sandwich is also fantastic. It is so thick it is hard to get your mouth around and it is definately filling. The price of dishes ranges a great deal depending on what you order. Eating at the Eldorado is a great experience overall. The service is typically friendly and the food and scenery is always good. The Eldorado is a trademark restaurant in Kelowna that shouldn't be missed.

by Corbet (from Vancouver, BC) May 2007 - The restaurant at the Hotel Eldorado is one of my favourite places to eat/drink while in Kelowna for a variety of compelling reasons. First, it is located directly on the water, making their patio one of the most top-notch spots to down a Corona in town. Second, their bar is one of the most comfortable and casual spots to grab a drink. Third, the food has always been absolutely delicious and delicately presented. If you are rolling through Kelowna with your lady/man friend and want to impress them with dinner and drinks somewhere that doesn't have a vineyard, this is most definitely the place. Everything I have had there is awesome, from the pesto goat cheese, caramelized onion and chicken flatbread pizza, the ahi tuna and Okanagan apple cone appetizers to one of the best spinach salads ever (topped with goat cheese, strawberries, raspberry vinaigrette and pistachios). The only thing to avoid is the smoking room, which is sometimes the only place to get an immediate seat on a Friday night. It is worth the wait to get seated on the patio, unless you enjoy smelling like a Cuban ashtray. Smoking room aside, you can't go wrong with the restaurant at the Eldorado.
