October 2007 - While in Kelowna for the holiday weekend, we opted to try the Woodfire restaurant, attached to our lovely hotel. We looked into a pleasant room and the staff who greeted us was very friendly and helpful, therefore we decided to stay. The waitress did explain that the restaurant had new owners and a new menu to choose from. The menu was very limited and quite expensive. We decided to order anyway and try their steak dinner and the ½ roasted chicken with organic veggies. The chicken was under done and the organic veggies consisted of a bed of lettuce. The well done steak order came as medium and my dining partner’s hot vegetables and mashed potatoes were served cold.
Although this evening dinner was a very big disappointment and very costly, we have to say the friendly staff out did themselves.
We do not think we will return to this spot again but hopefully the new owners will be able to sort it all out. We did hear other customers complaining about the menu as well.
