August 2008 - Salty's Beach House is located on Penticton's Lakeshore drive across from Okanagan Lake. The restaurant is a well known tourist spot which offers good food and great atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated with a pirate theme and has a large heated patio that is great for people watching. The only set back is the long waits for a table unless you make a reservation and they don't take reservations for August long weekend.
The menu is large with a large variety of options-everything from fresh seafood to pad thai-there is definitely something there for everyone. The prices are reasonable, with seafood at market price, and the portions are large. I would recommend one of their specialty pizzas called the Tandoori chicken pizza, very delicious and unique.
Although Salty's is a tourist destination, I still go there whenever I am home visiting my family. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a uniquely Penticton dining experience.
