| "The worst Customer Service ever" |

May 2007 - Do not take kids with you .... even though it is mentioned in their writeup that it is family oriented, it is by far the biggest stretch of advertising ever. First off, they were not going to rent rooms to me as I was with four teenagers. 2 girls, my daughters and 2 boys that were travelling with me as we were guests of Summerlands Good Will Shakespeare Festival. I had to plead my case and told them that I would be 100% responsible for them. After about 20 minutes of assuring them that they were good kids, and that we were going to be staying just for the night and was only looking for a place to sleep as the festival was going to be over at 10:30 at night and we were from Vancouver and felt we would be too tired to drive home and that we had been extremely busy with workshops, and play rehersals etc for the last 4 days...and that these kids would be exhausted and would not be partying. We were given the keys and I told them that we would be back at around 11:00 that night and that we know that it was quiet time after 11:00 and that they need not worry. After a good night sleep and no problems with noise as they went straight to bed, we got up and started packing up the car. The 2 boys were up the hill a bit in a separate little cabin and did not realize there were stairs leading down to my car, so they proceeded to walk thru the rock garden, not trampling anything as they were jumping over and stepping onto the rocks, well all of a sudden there was screaming and yelling from the male owner .... I thought someone was killing someone and when he finally stopped screaming, I realized what was going on and immediatley started to apologize and made sure that there was no damage...well he came stomping up still yelling and muttering under his breath, grabbed his dog and stomped off... I tried to explain that is was an innocent mistake (kids).. and he would have none of it, we finished loading up the car in silence and drove off feeling very sad that our last day was brought down so fast by someone who was obviously not people oriented (even though he owns a motel). There was no thanks for your patronage (I rented 2 rooms), no have a safe trip, nothing just yelling and screaming.

I am very sorry that your stay with us was not enjoyable . I am also sorry that you felt you had to give us a rating that was not so great,,, This can be detrimental to ones business , so I feel I have to respond to this review,,, We are sometimes leary about renting a motel room to teenagers who are not adequately supervised,,, this I do not apoligize for,,, due to past experiences we tend to be cautious,,,we have other guests staying here who also need to be concidered,,, I feel the whole incident was over exagerated,,, and some points missed,,,, the rock garden you spoke of was actually 4 tiers of flower beds with rock walls,, the steps to use were about 10 feet away from where the boys jumped down through the flower beds,,, when the boys were repremanded for it , you also apoligized for their behavior ,, so I am suprised that you took offense,,, it was explained to them how many hours go into keeping property looking good ,, You said that they were kids,,, well I am now surprised,, after finding empty beer cans in their room in the morning,,,,I do apoligize if you think the repremand was too severe,, I know boys will be boys ,
