April 2008 - We got stuck driving through a snowstorm and decided to take a break from driving and find something to eat. The Doghouse Restaurant is on the highway that cuts through Duncan and was easy to access. The restaurant was packed. We took a seat at the door after leaving our name. There were six parties before us but the waitress said we would get seated within 10 minutes. She was right. The place is a lot bigger than it looks when you walk in. The booth we were seated in was very narrow and a bit uncomfortable but not so bad that we wanted to move. The waitress dropped a carafe of coffee and a jug of water on the table and said she would be right back. She didn't take too long coming back to take our orders. My daughter is picky about her meals, particularly breakfast but the waitress endured the special order. I order one of the day's specials - pancakes with farmer sausage. My husband and other daughter had eggs. The order did take a while to come up, but the place was very busy. They did get my daughter's order right. My pancakes were huge, but the sausages were not to my liking. Everything else was fine. The waitress, even though she was very busy, managed to ensure that my husband had cream for his coffee. The prices were reasonable for breakfast.
This is not a quiet spot nor was the seating overly comfortable, but as a family restaurant, it scored high with my kids. We would stop there again.
