June 2008 - The Craig Street Brew Pub is a little out of place in sleepy downtown Duncan. It is a type of trendy restaurant you would expect to see in a big city. The restaurant is 2 floors with exposed timbers,a fireplace and a view of the brew house through large glass windows. The atmosphere is both rustic and trendy.
The brewery produces 5 different beers named after neighboring locations such as the Shawnigan Irish Ale, which is very smooth by the way. The menu is not large but contains both traditional pub fare and healthy options such as dinner salads and grilled fish. All the ingredients are fresh and the food is delicious. They have an quite extensive wine list containing many local Cowichan valley wines at a decent price.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone living in and traveling through Duncan. You get to taste some of the islands best beer and wine in a trendy and comfortable atmosphere.
