July 2008 - We recently moved from Calgary to Nanaimo and were in need of a hotel/motel that was within walking distance of amenities and reasonably priced as we had to make a few trips while house hunting and did not have a vehicle. Anyone who has been to Nanaimo knows it has one of the most beautiful harbours in Canada and is a definite "tourist attraction" when visiting Vancouver Island. We found the price of the Travelodge to be amazing considering it's location, cleanliness & ease of access... all along with a continental breakfast! They offer discounts to people with BC Ferry tickets or other promotional coupons. They do allow pets and were especially friendly with our rather rowdy lab puppy and always had a smile and greeting when we passed thru the lobby. Rooms and hallways could use a little facelift, but clean and definitely made us feel welcome to our new city.

| "Stay Close to Oceanfront Walkway" |

July 2007 - On a trip to Vancouver Island this summer, we decided to stay at the downtown Travelodge. After noticing it is located right near the wonderful ocean front walkway, we were more than happy with our choice. The staff was extremely helpful and they came through with my request of an ocean view from a balcony, room. We were also able to get an early check in. It was a good size room with two comfy beds and the bathroom was big and bright and clean. To be within walking distance of the ocean and lots of dining choices, this was the place to spend a few days. The scenic harbour parks are also nearby and they are quite beautiful. Along the lovely ocean walkway, there are small tour boats available to take to close by islands. The ferries to Vancouver are only minutes away by car. The hotel is close to downtown shopping.
We were very satisfied with this hotel and will certainly return in the future.
