April 2008 - Well we finally found a wonderful place to eat fabulous food in our new city of Nanaimo. Many folk had told us about Piper’s Neighborhood pub, and we were so glad to try it out. We’ve been back there twice and were completely satisfied. It’s on a major road around Nanaimo Bay and easy to find. It’s a fairly new building and it’s huge inside. Wonderful wood and stone and copper bar and on the walls. I counted 18 big screen TVs with all the favorite sports being played. Our server was friendly and helpful with our food choices. For a pub, there are a lot of menu choices and they also have a take out menu. We opted for the steak sandwiches and they were done to perfection and the Caesar salad was freshly made and delicious. The fries were fresh and nice and crispy. We noticed a few locals having their French onion soup and we will be back to try that next, on their outdoor patio.
