May 2008 - We have recently purchased a new home in Nanaimo and were there painting and getting ready to move our furniture in. We decided to take a break and look for a place to have some fish and chips (well we were on the coast). Our new neighbor suggested Troller's on the dock. The restaurant is actually a kind of barge on the water which was really cool. There was a gentleman singing coastal songs and interacting with the patrons which totally added to the experience. After looking at their extensive menu we decided on halibut and chips but they were out at the time. They suggested the cod and chips saying that it had just come in that morning. So we decided to go with 2 orders of cod and chips and I had the clam chowder also. The food came as we were sitting watching the water, the portions were quite big. We were not disappointed as the cod was really good and the chips were outstanding. The clam chowder that I order tasted like what my Grandmother used to make, so I was quite happy with it. I would highly recommend that you give them a try and experience the whole ambiance. We will defiantly be back to try the rest of the menu.
