May 2008 - After a visit from the lovely Welcome Wagon lady, we decided to look up some of her recommended places to have dinner in Nanaimo. We have tried other Ricky’s restaurants in the Calgary area and we were always pleased and satisfied. This spot in our new city of residence proved to be an excellent choice. We were greeted by very friendly staff and were seated quickly even though it was the supper hour. Our waitress was helpful with our selections as they do have a varied menu. My dining partner chose the liver and onions with a loaded baked potato and lovely fresh garden vegetables. He raved about everything as being cooked to perfection. My choice was the roast beef dinner complete with Yorkshire pudding and very creamy mashed potatoes. The vegetables were mouth watering delicious. Even though we ate everything on our plates, we decided to share a piece of lemon meringue pie. It was so fresh and tasty that we’ll be back just for the dessert.
