"Nice little Teahouse"

August 2008 - We went to Tea on the Quay Teahouse in Nanaimo for lunch. It was fantastic! I enjoyed the broccoli cheddar soup and a freshly baked cranberry scone. The soup tasted home made. There was a lot of variety on the menu and I had a hard time choosing what to order. The food was excellent. The restaurant is such a nice little spot along the wharf. The facility is small but very quaint and cozy and clean. The service was excellent and the waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. Our 1 year old dined with us and the although it wasn’t the perfect place for children, the staff and other patrons did not seem to mind. The prices were very reasonable. We went to this restaurant as a recommendation from friends of ours and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. I would be happy to return to it when visiting Nanaimo.

"Great Little Place"

May 2008 - What a wonderful spot we found on the waterfront walk in Nanaimo. It’s called Tea on the Quay, and it’s also attached to a lovely ice cream parlour. The tea shop has seven tables and we were able to snag one to try their high tea that afternoon. Everything was tasty and delicious and well presented. We decided to make a reservation to come back on Mother’s day. What a perfect decision to spend our lunch time on a special day looking out at the beautiful waterfront. We decided to try the cream of asparagus soup which was creamy and delicious. We both opted for the quiche for our main course. It was light and fluffy and very filling. They have extensive menu choices of scones and it was difficult to choose. We tried the cheddar cheese ones and they were not a disappointment. They were light and warm and mouth watering. We will definitely be back again to try the others
