July 2007 - While staying in Nanaimo near the beautiful waterfront, we discovered this wonderful spot to eat. The Lighthouse Bistro and Pub is located right on the oceanfront walkway in Nanaimo. While reading the menu posted out front, we noticed a bit of a waiting lineup for the restaurant, so we opted to try the pub upstairs and outside on a small patio. What a great decision we made. The staff was somewhat busy, as it was early evening, but they were extremely friendly and very helpful to us. As we were sitting down we could not stop admiring the fabulous view of the ocean from our table. We were delighted to the utmost when our food arrived piping hot and delicious. One of my dining mates and I ordered the fish and chips that were the fresh catch of the day, and done to perfection. My other mate ordered the beef dip and he said it was incredible. They have an extensive variety of wines and beer and other drinks to order.
This spot with the wonderful views and delicious food will be one of our regular stops from now on while in Nanaimo.
