September 2008 - We passed this inviting deli on our way to a local surf shop. I knew we would come back and visit this deli after a long day on the beach. I arrived in time for the dinner crowd but it wasn't overly busy. Breaker's is very clean and organized inside. There is a counter with stools for people to sit at and lots of cold-food items to select from. They also have lots of hot food options including delicious looking pizzas. Unfortunately, I arrived on a day when the cook had left due to an injury so the hot food options were not available. In a strange twist, the cook's unfortunate accident forced me to try some of their great cold foods. I opted for the Greek pasta salad, a large fruit salad bowl and a bottled water. Both contained very fresh items and tasted great. Next time I am in Tofino, I will definitely be stopping by Breakers!

Hi, Thanks for the review! In the 10 years we have been open, we have never had to shut the kitchen due to the chef having to leave (due to an accident he had outside the restaurant and just wasn't fit to work) Regardless, funny how things work out, I'm glad you had a good experience and thanks again for the review! July 2007 - Breakers is located on the main road in Tofino and is easy to locate because of the constant crowds milling about its entrance. There is counter seating inside but this is really just a take out place. There is always a line up to place your order but they are quick and the little wait is worth it. Everything is made fresh to order. They offer fresh veggie and meat sandwiches on buns and wraps. They also offer salads that are unique but very good - such as pesto pasta and avocado. They sell gourmet breads and dips and an assortment of desserts including cookies and squares. This is a great place to go to fill your picnic basket for your day on the beach and there is so much variety, there will be something for everyone. The prices are a little high but it is the best place in town to get sandwiches. During our vacation in Tofino, we frequently went to Breakers for lunch or a snack.
