"Very chic"

September 2008 - We stayed at one of the Oswego’s standard suites and it was beautiful! It seriously felt more like someone’s condo rather than a hotel room. It was very open, spacious and airy with tall windows, a little balcony, and kitchen. It was nicely decorated and had a very warm, comfortable feel. There was even a large flat screen HD with satellite tv. But my favourite was the bathroom. It was large, had beautiful tile, a glass shower and separate tub, and very soft lighting. The only huge disappointment was the bed. While it was a large queen, it was not comfortable to sleep in. The mattress felt slim and the pillows were humungous… not great for the neck. It was difficult trying to get comfortable and most of my nights were spent tossing and turning. I would have given the room a 10 had it not been for the horrible bed. Unfortunately, because of the bed I would not stay here again. It’s too bad because this was one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve stayed in so far.

"Clean, Modern Hotel with Style"

by Mike (from Calgary, AB)
October 2007 - I recently spent a night at the Oswego hotel in one of their studio suites. Here's what I thought:

The Location: The location of the hotel is very good. It's an easy walk to downtown Victoria and Fisherman's wharf.

The Room: The hotel is new, so the rooms are very clean and modern looking. The large flat panel TV, granite counter tops, Bodum coffee press and free high speed Internet access were great. On the downside, the studio suite offers a Murphy bed, which I found to be a nuisance to open and very uncomfortable to sleep on.

The Breakfast: The continental breakfast is outstanding. Boiled eggs, specialty cheeses along with the usual toast, bagels and juices make it perhaps the best continental breakfast I've ever had.

The staff: Very professional and helpful.

Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you are looking for a boutique-style hotel with style and modern conveniences (but be warned about the Murphy beds!).
