by Robin (from Victoria) April 2008 - This place is such a gem. It's located in a building with 3 other food stands and a cafe in Cook street village. I like that I know that I can order the vegetarian combo plate and be sure to be pleased. The plate holds a large circular fluffy flatbread called njera. A variety of warm saucy mixtures are scooped onto the bread. There are spicy lentils blends, a green pea sauce, cooked spinach, and cooked potato and carrot blend. You also get another roll of the flatbread. It is customary to eat with your hand. By taking a piece of the flatbread, you can use it to scoop up some of the sauces and put it in your mouth. I love all the different flavours. They range from mild to spicy. For the meat-lovers, there are plenty of options to choose from. One can choose to sit and dine at one of the smaller tables inside the building or sit outside on the wooden benches by the brickwork and flower arrangements. It is also a hop skip and a jump from the ocean, making it a great place to dine, and then enjoy a walk along the ocean.
