"You get what you pay for..."

December 2008 - Still in search of an inexpensive, quick burger, We hit up Brady's Fish and Chips in some strip mall along Burnside RD. We took a look at the menu behind the take-out counter, and were pleasantly surprised by the prices. We'd noticed that there was a large dining room attached, so we decided to eat in, but quickly changed our minds when we noticed that the prices on the dining room menus were $2 more than the prices for the same items on the take-out menu. We ordered two deluxe cheeseburgers, to go, and for the first time in years, we ate them in the car. The whole point here is that you get what you pay for. The deluxe cheeseburgers were $4 each, not a bad price for a non-chain, fast food burger. The only problem was that it was just slightly above the quality of the burgers you get outside your local supermarket when some charity group is doing a fundraiser BBQ, except the burgers outside the supermarket usually go for $2 to $3. I mean, this wasn't really a bad burger. It had a standard, white, burger bun and a smallish, supermarket patty, and ketchup and relish. It just wasn't very good. It did it's job though, in that it filled me up...and did so for $4. Would I go back for a burger? Nope. Their prices seemed pretty good though, so I might try their Fish and Chips if I ever find myself hungry in that neighborhood again.
