| "Nice Pub near the Harbour" |
by deb (from victoria) June 2008 - It was Tall Ship weekend and the streets were busy on the Inner Harbour. We were looking for a place for lunch and decided to try Darcy's because it was busy while the other places beside it were not. We spotted one last table on the patio and decided to give the place a try. The weather was quite hot but the patio was located in the shade making it a comfortable place to have something to eat. The waitress was over to us almost as soon as we sat and brought the menus. Our drinks were brought out very quickly as well. The menu offered the average pub fare with burgers, an assortment of sandwiches and salads. I ordered a Thai Chicken Salad (although I really wanted the sweet potato fries) and my husband had the Reuben Sandwich. Our lunch was up quite quickly as well. My husbands Reuben was huge. The bread was thickly sliced marbled rye and the corned beef was so thick it was difficult to bite into. My salad was delicious. The dressing was quite spicy. We both really enjoyed our meals and highly recommend giving this place a try particularly on a nice day. There is a large indoor seating area as well.

| "I LOVE the Lamb Burger!" |
by Tiemen (from Victoria, BC) September 2007 - I've been to Darcy's Pub on several occasions, at least a couple in the past 3 months. I'll be completely honest, I go there for the Lamb Burger. Everytime I go there, I swear I'll try something new. Everytime, I order the Lamb Burger. I mean, everything else on the menu sounds good, and everything people who've I've been there with have ordered, looks and smells great. I just really like the Lamb Burger. Why do I like it so much? Well, I love lamb, but rarely have the oportunity to eat is as my wife doesn't like it, and I'm a little too thrifty to order it in most restaurants. So, when the opportunity to eat lamb at a decent price (usually in burgers and kebabs) I hop at it. Darcy's Barbeque Lamb burger is a step above others I've tasted. Juicy and fresh, with a thick patty and dried apricot, rosemary and dijon mustard, BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese. Really, at $12, it's the ultimate pub burger...at least it is for me. I figure if I'm going to order the same thing everytime I go there, I may as well get really ridiculous, and get the same side as well. I ALWAYS get the salad with the spicy Thai dressing. Really tasty dressing that compliments the burger perfectly. In addition to the great Lamb Burger, Darcy's also has a few other things going for it. It's close to the water, so get a window seat for harbour views, and they have a large selection of local beers on tap. It caters largely to tourists during the day, so the prices are on the high end of average for pub food. And there is live music every day of the week, so expect lines if you come after 8PM. Darcy's also acts as a type of archive for the Royal Canadian Music Project, so be sure to wander around looking at the displays of local garage and 60's, dance band memorabilia in the cases on the walls. Oh yeah...if all else fails, order the Lamb Burger!

| "Definitely Worth Checking Out!" |

by Tara (from Victoria) July 2007 - My husband and I recently moved to Victoria and after a long day of unpacking we decided what we needed was a drink and some pub food. We decided to try Darcy’s Pub and it was the perfect choice. It’s located downtown near the harbour and Bastion Square and if you get a window seat there’s a great view of the water and no shortage of people to watch. It was a bit too busy for us to get a seat right beside the window but the atmosphere is great no matter where you sit. There’s a ton of music memorabilia on the walls to keep you busy while you’re waiting for your food to arrive or you can just sit back and relax. I got a Strongbow Apple Cider and a classic burger. The cider was refreshing and delicious and the burger was everything I had hoped for. For $10 I had a huge burger which included lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle. For a side, I had my choice of soup, salad or fries. I chose the salad with a delicious honey vinaigrette dressing. I was very satisfied with my meal and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a fun atmosphere with great food, great prices and great service. I know I’ll be back often and I’m looking forward to my next visit so I can try something new.
