| "Cosy Pub" |

by Gary (from Victoria) February 2009 - The Fernwood Inn is located inside a striking tudor style themed building in the heart of Fernwood Village. It is impossible to miss with its pale orange/yellow and black colour scheme and looked so inviting, we had to go in and give it a try. Lovers of an English style pub will feel right at home in the pub and there is a restaurant to the side of the pub as well as an outside patio area. We sat in a booth alongside the window that gave us a great view onto Fernwood street. There is a wide selection of beers including local micro brews. I would recommend the Glanville Island winter ale that had a distinctive toffee nut finish. The menu is varied and the menu specifies that they use locally sourced organic products. There is also a Sunday brunch available and I am sure this is going to become one of my favourite pubs in Victoria.

| "Very Friendly Service" |

by Tara (from Victoria) July 2007 - Last night my husband and I were at the Fernwood market and needed to grab a bite to eat. We passed by the Fernwood Inn and they were advertising a burger and beer special for about $9. Perfect! So in we went. It was a really nice, clean, updated pub with a nice atmosphere. Our server was super friendly and our burgers and beers came very quickly. The special included a beer and burger only so we decided to also split some yam fries. They were very tasty. The burger came with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and a special sauce. My husband really enjoyed his, but I felt there was something missing that I still can’t put my finger on. I think it may have been that the beef didn’t taste seasoned at all, just charbroiled ground beef. I’m not sure, but I wasn’t overly impressed with the burger, I enjoyed everything else though. The beer was good but the special included Molson Canadian only and if you wanted something else you had to pay an extra $2 to upgrade. All in all it was a good dining experience and it was fun to watch the people at the market across the street. There was quite a bit of action for a Tuesday night. I would definitely recommend the Fernwood Inn and I’d like to go back and try something else because everything they were bringing out of the kitchen looked and smelled great! And I was very impressed with our server and how friendly and quick she was.
