January 2008 - There's a reason why you'll spot regulars at this restaurant night after night: cause it's darn good. Located off the beaten path on Haultain Street, just east of Cook Street and approximately a 25-30 minute walk from downtown Victoria, Haultain Fish and Chips serves a variety of tasty dishes -- mostly deep fried. The portions are HUGE (especially the fries) and their homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce are fantastic. I'm not a fish and chips connoisseur, but I know good food when I taste it -- and that's what Haultain Fish and Chips serves. My only complaint about this restaurant is that it needs a makeover (including more seating/standing space for people waiting for takeout).
