"Mediocre all around"

June 2008 - We found ourselves in Cook Street Village on a Saturday afternoon, looking for some lunch, and decided to try Rosie’s Diner for a quick bite. From the outside, Rosie’s looks like a cozy, neighborhood, retro diner…seemed like a good place to try out. Once inside, we realized that their idea of retro was plastering to place in Betty Boop posters, and it wasn’t actually that cozy after all. We were hoping that the food had more going for it than the décor. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich while my wife ordered the burger. Both were disappointing. Rosie’s serves the kind of food you’d expect from the only restaurant in a very small town…the kinda place people keep going to, because there is no other choice. Victoria has A LOT of restaurants, and I’d try them all before going back to Rosie’s. I had high expectations with Rosie’s. I’m always on the lookout for a decent diner that serves good food at good prices. Too bad Rosie’s didn’t live up to my expectations.

"Bad Washroom, Average Food"

January 2008 - I'm not sure what to say about Rosie's Diner. I wanted to like, and it looks like a popular spot, but the lunch I was served recently was average at best. I had a BLT with clam chowder side. The sandwich was OK, but the soup was awful. It tasted like mushy fish bits mixed in water and not much more. I think most troublesome about my experience at Rosie's was the condition of the men's washroom. When I go to place like Rosie's I'm not expecting much, but they could invest a few hundred bucks and make it soooo much nicer. It reminded me of a highway gas station restroom... Sorry Rosie.
