"contemporay art from Serbia and Montenegro shows well."
by Abe (from Winnipeg)
September 2006 - The current show Called The Global Village at the Ken Segal Gallery is worth checking out. The show is made up of 10 artists from Serbia and Montenegro. The work is varied in styles and media and techinique. What is interesting is that the work is as relevant here in the gallery in Winnipeg just as it would be in Belgrade. I was impressed with the way the gallery displayed the work. paying alot of attention to the distinctiveness of all the work. The drypoint prints by Zoran Todar show the artists drawing skills. Artist like Snezana Grozdanovic her works on paper and collages, are like these nightime creatures that are very strong. I do recommend the exhibition. Its nice to see a commercial gallery in Winnipeg really showcasing contemporary art. The Ken Segal Gallery is worth visiting.
