"3rd time not so good"

by Doug (from winnipeg)
February 2007 - My nefew liked this restaurant, well he liked one of the servicing staff. Interesting place, small family ran. Hit and miss. Last two time just OK regular fare. We prefer a nother thai restaurant with consistent good food. We were orginally going to order from a different restaurant but it is closed for holidays until Feb 28. So we thought we would give this restaurant one more chance. We decide takeout. take out is not really this restaurants specialty even if they advertise that they do. very leaky containers, the kind you would use for a salad and xs bag. food was ice cold, 5 min. drive in car. whoever packaged these dishes used the same utensils in each container and must have small hands (sauce finger prints on outside of all containers) even the salad roll lettuce, carrot, bean sprouts had sauce on them. the coconut milk sauce looked and tasted like it was water down, the curry if you could call it that was watered down. the spring rolls were chocolate brown(my wife said burnt) but technically not black. the noodles were also burnt and get this, rice was not very flavourful. I have not had days old rice since my wife cooked up a little to much. Mind you, with the cook's utensil he left just enough curry sauce on half the rice. the peanut sauce was very nice. This restaurant could benefit buy not doing take out, raising the lights inside so the serving staff can see the reactions of the clients to the sloppyness of the food and having friendler front end staff, (SMILE) Would really like to have more restaurants in Winnipeg that have a higher quality of food. Ps anyone can do spice, not all can do fine flavouring, you must love your food.
