| "The Best Customer Service" |
by Donald (from Venetia, PA) July 2007 - My daughter recently lost a bracelet that she received from her aunt as a confirmation gift. We knew the gift came from Independent Jewllers and contacted the store on Notre Dame to try and trace the purchase in order to replace the bracelet without letting her aunt know of the loss. We were greeted over the phone by an extremely friendly person by name of Alanna. We conveyed our sad story to Alanna and she immediately went to task spending numerous hours going through the hundreds / thousands of sales transactions to try and identify the exact bracelet. After several days and numerous phone calls back and forth she was able to narrow down the search and found the bracelet in question.
The bracelet was identified, reordered and shipped to our address in the US all with about a one month time frame. Needless to say we were extremely pleased with our service and the final results. We would have been pleased with the service we received even if the bracelet could not have been replaced just because of the Alanna's effort.

| "The Wedding Ring" |
by tamara (from winnipeg manitoba) June 2007 - In all comercials on T.V there is this label that is given to an engagament as being one of the most important purchases one will ever make. I have been married for 7 years . My husband and I purchased the engagement and wedding bands for both of us at the independent Jewelers on Notre Dame location in Winnipeg in 2000. In June of 2007 I had gone into the store to get repairs done on the shaft of the ring do too natural wear and tear. I got the ring back and after a week of wearing it noticed that the top of the rings ( they are three rings soddered together) that two of the bands split do too what I beleive to be from the pressure of soddering them back together. I then picked up the ring for a third time and when i went to put it back on, the band was all crooked. the staff including the manager proceeded to tell me that I was too picky and that it was part of the " character" of the ring because it is been tampered with and considered "custom" now because of the work done on it. I have never been so up set, to the point of tears .They said they couldn't fix it anymore and that I was just going to have to get used to the fact that my wedding rings are crooked!!!! In the 7 years that i have been married my husband has bought 3 gold chains with pendents and 2 pairs of diamand earings.a total of at least3 thousand dollar not including the wedding stuff that totaled at least 3 thousand more dollars. We will never shop there again with the treatment we were given. When I take my rings off too wash the dishes I make sure that when I put my rings back on that I put the crooked side of my ring on the ooutside of my hand so I can't see it. This makes me very sad that I have to forever look at my wedding rings with these feeling instead of a sense of pride.
