August 2008 - Our room had a beautiful view of the sunrise over the Big Tub Harbor. We fell asleep to the sounds of the boats gently rocking in the marina down below. There were plenty of things to do and to see in the area and the hotel was easy to get to. Super-friendly owners and staff. Great food and drink in the pub, which has a deck overlooking the water. Tourist boats would come into the harbor and everybody would wave like crazy :-) All in all, a wonderful vacation. Highly recommended.

June 2008 - We were on a motorcycle trip around the Great Lakes. We were coming from West Virginia. After getting off of the Ferry Boat it was raining and we made our way to Big Tub Resort. The Pub was about to close, but they kept it open for us to be able to have a night cap after checking in. We met the other couple on the boat and they had no reservations and came along with us and were able to get a room. The owner was real nice. If I ever make it back to the area, this will be the place to stay.

May 2008 - I would recommend this resort to anyone planning a trip to Tobermory. It has a beautiful setting right on big tug bay adjacent to a shipwreck site and next door to an old lighthouse. The room we stayed in was newly renovated and was very comfortable. A great feature of this resort is that it has a bar/restaurant overlooking the water (bar closes at 10:00 p.m.), which features local beer and excellent food.

July 2007 - I had visited this resort, which had new owners and had supposedly been refurbished. I asked to see a room and was shown one that indeed was redone nicely. On my recommendation, a co-workerand stayed Sat. July 7/07. She reported that he room they were given was horrid! They could feel the springs beneath the well-worn matress, and the room, particularly the bathroom was incredibly grungy. This was obviously not the well-appointed room I had had viewed. They left as early as possible Sun. they said they would never stay there again. nor recommend it to anyone. I feel misled and too would nerer recommend staying there.
