| "discrimination" |

July 2007 - I have an autistic son with a guide/service dog in training. The dog is not allowed even though she is a service dog for my son. I feel that they are discriminating agaist my son and dog.

July 2007 - Perhaps Ms. Monique Rivard should read up on the slander laws; specifically stating facts that are not true about a persons a/o business.
The Tobermory Princess Hotel and its staff, including management, did not at any time discriminate against Ms. Rivard and her autistic son. The dog in question was described as a pet initially. She then changed it to "service dog" once we told her that we do not accept pets. This pet that she purchased for her autistic son,had never been trained as a service dog when she initially inquired if she could bring it. It was signed up for training the day before she was to arrive. Therefore our opinion was that a "dog in training" is not a trained companion dog/service dog.
Lastly, Ms. Rivard was told that she, her sister and her autistic son were more than welcome to stay with us, however, the dog would not be permitted in the building because it had not been fully trained in its capacity as a companion dog/service dog.
