September 2007 - First of all, I would like to say the room was clean and the bed comfortable.
However ...
We had booked a single Friday night in order to attend a wedding in Guelph. I had tried to get an early (1:30pm) check-in, but was told they couldn't guarantee there would be a room available. We ended up checking in after the wedding ceremony (5pm) and were quickly made aware that the walls are paper thin when we heard some "afternoon delight" coming from next door. There was no elevator, but luckily (or so we thought) our room was diagonally across from the door off the stairs. Word to the wise, NEVER book this room. After getting to bed late, we were woken up bright and early by every person leaving the hotel via the stairwell outside our room. And then our frisky neighbours started up again. Seeing as we had booked in advance, I'm surprised that this room was assigned to us ... it should definitely be kept in reserve, with warnings, for people who can't find lodgings any place else.

August 2007 - We have stayed in this Days Inn before and always appreciated the service and convenient location. On our last visit we reserved a nonsmoking suite at a premium price because my husband needs a king sized bed. We were upset to find that our room had a real smokey smell. Although this was designated as a non smoking room, it was at the beginning of a dead end corrider that contained all the smoking rooms and the smell of smoke permeated along the hall.
When asked to have another room we were unable to change rooms because they said they said they were all booked up. We ran the air conditioning full blast to try and clear out the smell (we couldn't open the widows), and put towels under the crack in the door. It helped a bit, but because we have allergies which are affected by air quality we were all stuffed up in the morning. If you are affected by smoke beware of accepting nonsmoking rooms at this Days Inn as it doesn't separate smoking rooms by floor or put up doors between smoking and nonsmoking sections !!
