"Disappointing Hotel"
3.67
by Philip (from Mississauga, ON)
August 2008 - Lobby clean and pleasant, front desk staff friendly. Room was awful, nothing like the photo on the website. The bathroom was bigger than the bedroom, which faced onto a brick wall about 6 or 7 feet away (room was in an alcove) and another brick wall adjacent. Queen-size bed is really a slightly-extended double--very uncomfortable for someone over 6' tall. Dark, dingy and window treatment consisted of 2 ill-fitting thin panels that sort of matched the bedspread. Only 1 spare pillow, and 1 set of towels for 2 people. Though this heritage building would contain much nicer accomodation than this. Will not go back again.

"Good value for price"

September 2007 - Stayed one night in Queen room. Nice size room with living room, and seperate bedroom. Hotel was buit in the early 1800s which some might not like but we thought it added to the Hotel's charm. For anyone wanting to visit Guelph it's located in the heart of Downtown which makes it walking distance to most attractions.

You also get free parking and there's a restaurant on site.

For the price not a bad room. Just don't expect something modern and new and you won't be dissapointed.

"dirty terrible hotel"
1.17
by anne (from dartmouth. nova scotia)
August 2007 - Stayed at Guelph Travel Lodge Aug. 31. No parking on sight available on site. Staff suggested we park at a city lot. We refused so a staff member was leaving work so gave us her spot. The hallways were dirty with cigarette butts on the floor. Our room was very dated and unclean. We had adjoining rooms but only one window air conditioner that did not work well. The bathroom was mouldy and extremley small. The knob to pull out for the shower fell off and the hot water tap turned the opposite of what you would expect. A hook on the back of the bathroom door fell off. The towels were no more than worn out rags. The pillows werematted worn out pillows that should have been thrown out years ago. The weren't fit to give a dog to sleep on. We were suppose to have internet service but did not. We were suppose to stay 2 nights but left and went to the Ramada. Also the breakfast was a watered down drink and dry cereal. We got there at exactly 10 and it was being taken away. After the sleepless night we spent we didn't really want to eat any food that came from there anyway. As you can tell this was a terrible experience. My daughter would not even sleep in the bed. She had a sleeping bag in the car and slept in that.
