"Beware of thorns and sour lemons!"
by Rachel (from Toronto, Ontario)
November 2006 - I called A Florist in Toronto, under the company name Blooms and Roses, the day before my spouse's birthday. As I was going to be away for business on her actual birthday, I wanted to surprise her with a lovely basket of fruit, wine and other goodies.

The basket arrived late, creating the need for me to ruin the surprise in an effort to keep her in the house and able to accept delivery.

The order was incomplete, and misrepresentative of their online description. (Caveat Emptor!)

When I called back to express my concerns, the manager refused to fully identify himself, called me "irritating", called me "sir", even though I identified myself as Rachel (and have a rather feminine sounding voice).

"John" ended up hanging up on me. When I called back to get complete company information for the purpose of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, he refused to give me the owner's information and complete company address and said they weren't a member of the BBB and hung up on me again.

Management Response:
by Sue
This basket arrived on the requested date and within our store policy time-frame. The order was complete and filled to Full value as per our designers notes as we have a Substitution policy as we don't hold back an order for 1 Item to miss a Special Occasion as this was a Birthday. The customer was not satisfied when we explained this to her and became very aggressive on the phone and she hung up on us. THANKS - Sue
