June 2007 - At a recent conference I had to attend at the University of Toronto, I stayed at the Delta Chelsea Hotel. It was perfect for me as it was very close to the university and was also centrally located so I could sight see. This hotel is on the airport shuttle route so it was convienent to get there as well. It is right off Yonge Street where every tourist must spend some time and it is close to all of the downtown attractions.
The hotel lobby is pretty standard but they do have a couple different food options right there. They have a cafe where it is easy to grab a fast breakfast and when you leave the hotel in any direction, there are plenty of restaurant, pub and cafe options. The rooms are small but I believe this is the case for all downtown Toronto hotels. The bed was very comfortable and had a wonderful duvet on it so I was able to sleep really well while I was staying there. There is a kids pool, complete with waterslide and an adults only fitness club which I really appreciated. They cater to both families, people travelling on business and people coming to the city for a weekend getaway. It is a very versitile hotel.
The Delta Chelsea Hotel fit my needs very well. The staff was friendly, the location was perfect and the facilities were great. I would recommend staying at the Delta Chelsea.
