"Awesome Food"

by Traci (from Oak Park, Illinois)
August 2006 - My family discovered this gem on a recent visit to Toronto. My little boys ages 5 and 10 love Chinese food? (but like most children their idea of Chinese food was only egg rolls, potstickers and steamed rice.) The food came out fresh, vegetables were recognizable and the aroma irresitable. My children tried everything that we ordered and loved it. Their favorite item was the Hot and Sour Soup. We were presented with large quantities for each entree and there was no need for a doggy bag. I would advise newcomers to either get a reservation or arrive early because the food is great and there is a huge carry out business as well. This will be my first stop when I re-visit Toronto.

"Best Chinese Food in Toronto"

by Andrea (from Markham, ON)
August 2006 - My husband and I love going to Lee Garden Restaurant! The food is always served quickly, at the appropriate temperature and there's always more than enough food to eat, we always take leftovers home. Sure you have to get there really early at 4or 5pm or wait until 9pm to get seated fast. But we feel it's just not a restaurant it's a whole experience like going to a dinner theatre, all the staff work at such a fast pace, it's quite a show to watch them all work. And there's always some customer in line who doesn't understand the system of asking the maitre'd for a number ticket as soon as you get into line so it's pretty funny watching them stress out for nothing. So go there at 6 or 7pm and be prepared to wait in line, but ask the maitre'd for a number as soon as you get into line. Some parties behind you may get seated before you because of their party size, but don't despair, we've never waited any more than 45 mins. at the busiest times. Even one of the owners serves on a Sat. night! I believe the Hot and Sour Soup is the best in the GTA. We feel very comfortable at the restaurant eventhough we don't understand Cantonese or Mandarin or use chopsticks. The food at Lee Garden is definitely worth the drive into Toronto!
