"Yorkville Bar and Grill a great choice"
7.50
by Gary (from Calgary)
July 2008 - On a recent trip to Newfoundland, my wife and I had a 4-hour stopover at the Toronto Pearson Airport. Needless to say, we were looking for a comfortable place to hang out for awhile, so we searched until we found a nice little hideaway overlooking the tarmac. There were two sections to the restaurant: a darker lounge area as we entered the bar, and a café style restaurant with natural lighting and a couple of TV’s with the obligatory sports channels overlooking the tarmac in the back, away from the noise of the hallways. There were a good number of Panini’s, and a couple of salads ranging from $6 – 9. Vegetarians have the choice of a Greek Salad or a veggie pita, and the rest of us could have anything from chicken Panini’s to full out meat-filled sandwiches. I chose the toasted Sicilian Panini for $7.99, stuffed with prosciutto, salami, capicollo, and provolone cheese on an Italian bun. It definitely hit the spot, and I felt I got a whack of meat for my money. Drinks ranged from $5 for a bottled beer to $9.39 for a 22 oz Import beer, hard liquor was $5.50 and up, and wine ranged from $7-9. The service was very quick and the waitress was pleasant – nothing to complain about really. Overall, it felt comfortable and relaxed, considering where we were, and the food was a pleasant surprise.
