| "A cozy rainy day pub" |
by Tanya (from Calgary) June 2007 - While in Toronto, I ate dinner one night at the Elephant and Castle as it was close to my hotel. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and interesting to talk to and he helped to make the experience more enjoyable.
I had the Jameson's Chicken dinner which was pretty good. A chicken breast with a mushroom sauce with garlic mashed potatoes (the best part of the meal!). I had a couple pints of beer with my meal from the Steamwhistle brewery which were also good. There are a number of TV's in the place and all were turned to sports channels so it is a great place to come watch a game.
It is a darkly furnished pub and there is no patio so it feels like a good place to come on a rainy day or in the winter. The food was only ok but the pub is cozy and the bartender made me feel comfortable sitting there by myself which made the experience enjoyable.
