August 2006 - After lengthy and exhaustive communication, thanks to the decisive assistance from an impartial prestigious B&B reviewer, the dispute is resolved at last.
I still regret that my family didn't get to stay at the B&B. In fact, we stayed at a dozen B&Bs around Ontario: Willow Manor in Guelph, Richmond Manor in Barrie, Tranquil Woods in Huntsville, Lilac Lane in Peterborough, Farley House in Belleville, StoneStable in Perth, and Russell Manor in Morrisburg, to name a few. The friendly and knowledgeable host/hostess, the diligent and attention to the tiniest details attitude, the inspiring dining chat, ... They are definitely our most treasured memory of 2006 summer vacation.
I learned a lot in the process as a guest. Better to prevent than to resolve. Trust is the key foundation supporting a rewarding open society.

August 2006 - I didn't have the luck to stay at this highly recommended B&B. But I can provide my personal booking experience this summer for your reference.
After I sent in my cc# for booking, there was no confirmation received, even after I e-mailed to verify. So I'd have to look for somewhere else to stay. After a few weeks, all of a sudden, the ownder e-mailed me, wrongly calling me David, questioning if I've forgot my booking! Then she charged me the full room rate, regardless of my protest...

Ezra Annes takes many reservations every year by e-mail. A certain procedure is followed and credit card numbers are usually required to hold a reservation. Mr. Arthur of Taipei was confirmed and he provided a credit card number to hold his room. But did not show up and did not phone to cancel his reservation. Of course the owner of the B&B remained awake until midnight awaiting his arrival. He was subsequently charged for his reserved room. Several weeks later the owner was advised that he felt he was unjustly charged and so the charges on his room were reversed.
It is unfortunate that Mr. Arthur (not his full name) would post such a derogatory review on this website.
