August 2007 - On arrival to this camp, there is a sign at the bottom of a very steep hill, telling you to park and walk up the hill to the office. It is very steep and difficult for anyone with walking problems. We asked the owner if we could look around but she chose to show us a few sites. We were camping with a tent. Anyway, the site were small and most on hills. The camp advertises a sandy beach, which it is but there are alot of weeds sticking up out of the water. There are trailers and tenting right on the beach area but it's hard to tell which space belongs to which camper, they are so close. There is a nice playground there for children. We never got to see the washrooms as we decided because of having to do so much climbing to get anywhere and the sites being so close not to stay. The owner was very nice. Young people may like camping there but again the camp sites are not ample in most cases. The cost of camping for a night was $ 29.00 .

Management Response:

Thanks for your oppinion. First, our sign states "RV's requiring full hock-up please park here and walk to office" since we don't want big rigs driving through the campground. We can't help people not understanding the difference between RV and an ordenary car, truck or van. Our politics of showing sites to customers on foot is easy to understand, less traffic. There's no weeds, algea, etc. in our swimming area, all sand. There's off course 1,400 ft. of shoreline which is natural habitat for fish and wildlife, that's what everyone should appreciate. It's true, we cater to families with kids, have no underbrush dividing sites, just mature trees for shade; we hardly have any insects here which is much appreciated from most; West Nile Virus is a big concern for mom & dad. Personally I wonder if you understand the means of family camping and not rather stay away from such in the future.
