July 2007 - Well, I am sad to say I was so dissappointed during our stay this year. It seems that the resort has taken a turn for the worse. The cottages are so run down that the charge should be less than 1/2 of what was charged. The beach was in terrible shape. The chairs were scattered in front of cottages or just covered in towels 6 am every morning so your choice of going to the beach was to sit uncomfortably on the remains of the geese droppings from the night before. Therefore, no beach time. We used the indoor swimming pool that was not cleaned once during the week and was in terrible condition. Despite not letting this ruin our vacation we turned to the playground only to take children from there due to broken beer bottles all over the sand. There was no where to turn except stay in the cottage, which smelled terribly of mold and mildew. Towel exchange - well making trips to get a towel became very miserable to make as when we got there there were none - never a face cloth. This was included in the price for the weekly rental. Barbecue use - bring your own - chairs on the beach b ring your own - want to take out a kayak or sailboat - dont expect any to be available - Sadly this is our last time going to Bluewater Acres - I was a satisfied previous customer but not bringing this to the attention of possible newcomers would be an injustice to any family vacationing.
