July 2007 - The Serendipity Gardens restaurant owners have recently added a four-roomed guesthouse on their property. The addition gives every reason for the road weary traveller to stop in the small Ontario town of Rossport. Located just off the Trans-Canada Highway, away from traffic noise, the guesthouse is within walking distance of Lake Superior. The two upper rooms have views of the lake and a common patio with chairs provides a perfect location from which to watch the water. The accommodations are reasonably priced at just over $100 after tax and include a boxed breakfast of yogurt, muffins, juice and condiments. The rooms are open and inviting with the option of a single king-size bed or two double beds. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are provided, as are a mini-fridge and a sink. There was no problem with the room on this occasion; however, if problems do arise management is only available at the restaurant, 500 meters away. Check-in is accomplished at the restaurant but check-out is as easy as leaving the key in the room and closing the door. Just like the town, the guesthouse is secluded and there definitely exists a sense of tranquility. If driving across Canada, the Serendipity Gardens guesthouse is the place to stop and relax.
