December 2007 - The usual spots for dining after church were too busy so we made our first visit to Bigg’s Deli & Bar. This diner will now be added to our usual spots.
The interior decor was typical of diners past, vintage European license plates on the wall etc. The tin ceiling added a nice touch.
Bigg’s provides an all-day breakfast menu which will certainly get me back. From the breakfast menu, my dining partner chose the Eggs Benedict with back bacon. The meal was awesome and the diner did a wonderful job of the Hollandaise sauce. So much fresh fruit was included with the eggs and potatoes that the fruit came home for a snack later.
From the lunch menu, I chose the reuben sandwich plate. Our serving sizes were huge. My sandwich was on double-decker rye bread, loaded with smoked meat, melted cheese and sauerkraut. I think the chef forgot the Russian dressing sauce which defines my kind of reuben sandwich. Even so, there was so much sandwich that one half of the sandwich came home for later.
