November 2007 - It was if everything was new at this place. The restaurant was still clean. The servers were too full of energy yet made mistakes. The salad bar plates were dirty but not from baked on dirt. Perhaps the salad bar was so small and crowded that food bits flew on to the piles of plates. Our empty and dirty dishes soon crowded out our table.
The food was great. One dining partner sampled the fajita meal. My other dining partner sampled a ribs meal and took home nearly all the ribs and vegetables. I had the Texas chicken skewers.
On my plate, there was plenty of juicy chicken breast brazed with onions and peppers. The chicken was painted with simple rib sauce. The dipping sauce was simple gravy and the bread consisted of one-half of one thin bun. The chicken rested on plenty of yummy rice. Rather than fries, I chose the steamed vegetables which were done perfectly for most patrons which means the vegetables were too crunchy for me.
The sugar pie and the New York cheese cake were wonderful.
We went at lunch and the place was packed with many patrons ordering the time-sensitive lunch specials. The three of us all chose the larger dinner portions - and paid the higher prices.
